Lacrosse is Coming to Galena – Spring 2025
Galena, Illinois is known for its rich history and strong community – and now, it’s adding something brand new: lacrosse. As the sport continues to expand across the Midwest, this is Galena’s chance to build a program from the ground up, introducing the game to players of all ages and skill levels.
Nearly all families joining Galena Youth Lacrosse this spring will be brand new to lacrosse, and we’re here to make the transition easy. Our program is built on affordability, accessibility, and local play, making it easier than ever for Galena families to get involved without the heavy commitment of travel-based models.

A Small but Mighty Lacrosse Community
Galena may be a smaller town, but that’s exactly what makes it a perfect fit for lacrosse. With new teams forming in Dubuque, Platteville, and other nearby communities, Galena players will have the chance to compete locally, build rivalries, and represent their hometown – without needing to travel far.
With as few as 5 players, we can form our youngest teams, and for older divisions, just 11 players are needed to compete – making it easier than ever to bring lacrosse to Galena.

Free Learn to Play Preseason Details
Dates: Tuesdays (3/18, 3/25, 4/1) and Thursdays (3/20, 3/27, 4/3)
Times: 5:45 pm – 7:00 pm
Location: Burrows Field – Clarke University (1535 Clarke Drive, Dubuque, IA) with inclement weather location of Robert and Ruth Kehl Center (1555 Clarke Dr, Dubuque, IA)
