Bedrock Lacrosse Coaches

Our People at Bedrock Lacrosse represent the most experienced and passionate group of lacrosse professionals in the region. From college head coaches and international coaching experience to seasoned semi-professional and collegiate players, our team brings a wealth of expertise to the field.

With direct partnerships with nearby semi-professional lacrosse teams and leadership experience in five of Iowa’s other youth programs, our founders have a proven track record of growing the game across the state. Together, we’re building a strong foundation for lacrosse in Iowa, guided by years of knowledge and a commitment to developing players at every level.

Name: Kasey Burst
Hometown: Syracuse, NY

Kasey joined the University of Dubuque in 2016 as the Spartans’ Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach after launching the Clarke University’s men’s and women’s lacrosse programs and serving as an assistant coach at Clarkson University, where he helped the team reach consecutive Liberty League Tournament appearances. A graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University, he was a two-time conference champion and competed in the 2010 NCAA National Tournament.

Name: Brandon Drumm
Hometown: Rapid City, SD

Brandon is a graduate transfer defenseman and team captain at Clarke University following a decorated undergraduate career at Mars Hill University. Brandon also plays semi-professional lacrosse as a defender for the Iowa Dogfish and previously competed with the Salt Lake Storm. Now in his fourth collegiate season, Brandon has quickly established himself as a leader, earning the captaincy in his first year with Clarke University.

Name: Tucker La Belle
Hometown: Ventura, CA

Tucker is the current Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach at Clarke University, where he also played his collegiate career and established himself as a community leader. In addition to coaching at the collegiate level, Tucker serves as the Head Coach of the Bulgarian Men’s Lacrosse National Team, helping to develop the sport internationally. He is also a co-founder of the Iowa Dogfish, Iowa’s only semi-professional lacrosse team, and has played five seasons of semi-professional lacrosse himself.

Name: Alexander “Al” Palensky
Hometown: Ames, IA

An original member of Ames Lacrosse Club, Al was a co-founder of Kingfisher Lacrosse and now manages four semi-professional teams, including the Iowa Dogfish, Madison Milkmen, Naperville Box Lacrosse Club, and the 2024 National Champion Chicago Portagers. He also co-created and manages Chicago’s largest box lacrosse league and has experience as a collegiate player, coach, official, board member, and consultant.

Name: Tanner Gell
Hometown: Oneonta, New York

Tanner, a native of Oneonta, New York, began his lacrosse journey in seventh grade and went on to play three years at the high school level before continuing his career at SUNY Broome. After one season there, he transferred to Herkimer College, where he spent two years, contributing to two consecutive Mountain Valley Conference championships. Now in his first season at Clarke University, Tanner has brought his offensive skillset to the attack unit as he looks to make an impact at the collegiate level.

Name: Cuinn Lydon
Hometown: Belchertown, Massachusetts

Cuinn, a New England native, found his passion for lacrosse as a freshman in high school, transitioning from defense to goalie, where he truly found his place in the game. After his junior season was cut short due to COVID-19, he eventually moved to Iowa, stepping away from lacrosse for a time. That changed when he connected with the Iowa Dogfish, reigniting his love for the sport. Now actively involved in growing the game, Cuinn is committed to helping develop Iowa’s youth lacrosse scene, hoping to inspire the next generation to share his passion for the sport.

Name: Roman Meyers
Hometown: Clinton, Iowa

Hi, I’m Joshua Pote, a passionate sports enthusiast with a strong background in coaching. I’ve been a dedicated player at Clarke University from 2022 to the present, at the face-off and defensive midfield positions honing my skills on the field. Beyond playing, I’ve also gained valuable coaching experience working with youth teams in track, flag football, and football. Currently, I’m pursuing a Sports Management and business degree, set to graduate in the spring of 2025. I’m committed to helping young athletes develop their skills, teamwork, and passion for sports both on and off the field.

USA Lacrosse act as our lacrosse national governing body. They provide immeasurable benefit including coach and officials training and certification, player insurance, and additional guidance.

The Iowa Dogfish are Iowa’s only semi-professional lacrosse team. Established in 2019 and playing out of ImOn Ice in Cedar Rapids. The Dogfish have partnered to provide experienced coaching, equipment, tickets, and merchandise for our players.

The Chicago Portagers are recognized as one of the most successful semi-professional lacrosse teams in America with the largest digital audience in the nation and freshly crowned National Champions. The Portagers have partnered to provide experienced coaching, equipment, tickets, and merchandise for our players.

The Madison Milkmen finished 2nd in their BLL conference in 2024, making the playoffs for the first time in team history. The Milkmen have partnered to provide experienced coaching, equipment, tickets, and merchandise for our players.

All Access Lacrosse is a multi-sport content network with its genesis building from the sport of lacrosse. Currently the 2nd largest audience in box lacrosse, All Access is committed to increasing its coverage of youth lacrosse in growing areas.
